Taiwan's First Door to Door Delivery of Materials to Promote Anti-violence Launched by the Taichung City Government

To respond to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25th, the Taichung City Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) entrusted Shu Xiang Care Association and cooperated with Foodpanda, to put stickers of anti-violence information on Foodpanda's delivery boxes between today (the 22th ) and the 28th. When delivering meals, Foodpanda's deliverymen will also give promotional information to eliminate violence against women to its recipients.
According to the Social Affairs Bureau, in consideration of lack of assistance information of victims of domestic violence, the Center especially teamed up with the delivery platform to send relevant information home via the convenient and closed method. At the event site today, agencies of the Taichung City Violence Protection Network and private organizations all set up booths to promote relevant concepts and planners trained by the Center led the public to learn about violence prevention knowledge via table games "Monopoly-Anti Violence" in order to educate citizens to be aware of "Zero Tolerance towards Violence."
Commissioner of the Center, Huang Rui-Ju said, due to the impact of the COVID-19, according to the official website of the UN Women, more reports of domestic violence in various countries were found. With more time to stay home, many victims were forced to live in the same room with perpetrators and they had more difficulties to seek help. With this cooperative event to deliver information home, more citizens were expected to receive accurate information to prevent violence.
The "Delivery for Violence Prevention Information- Deliver Safety Home" promotional press conference was held today at the Taichung Park and Deputy Secretary General, Lai Shui-Hui, on behalf of the Taichung City Government, presented appreciation letters to the supporting organizations including Foodpanda and joined Director General of the Bureau, Peng Huai-chen, Director of the Center, Hou Shu-Ju, the Commissioner, Huang Rui-Ju, to announce the cooperation with the delivery platform to bring information for domestic violence prevention.
