The Film Promotion of Gender Equality in Taichung City

While vaccinating, watching films of gender equality can help manage the experience! The Social Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government cooperated with the Dajia and Houli District Offices to set up AV equipment at rapid vaccination stations at present and play movies of gender equality such as "Women of the Hour-Xiduo" and "Inheritor" on the screen to promote gender equality when the public is waiting for their vaccination.
According to the Bureau, AV materials at vaccination centers now mainly included the issue of gender equality such as "Women of the Hour-Xiduo" that incorporates the traditional elements of Taiwanese hand puppet theater. "Inheritor" discusses gender and the rights of heritage; "Housework Sharing for Simple Happiness" examines housework responsibilities. The animation, "Gender Equality AV Station- Guideline for Gender Equality" presents social stereotypes of gender and ways to stop and get rid of gender stereotypes; "Gender: Marginalized or Mainstream?" and "What Are Gender Types?" introduce the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEADW) and gender mainstreaming.
The Bureau pointed out that through digital AV materials, the public is assisted to understand gender difference, to promote gender equality and to get rid of gender stereotypes. Additionally, in the designated area of gender equality in Taichung City（ https://ge.taichung.gov.tw/ , there are quizzes and films on gender equality. During the pandemic prevention and control period, the designated area of "Gender Equality Pandemic Prevention and Control" was added to the "Gender Equality Bulletin Board" for continuous public promotion of gender equality.
