Director General of the Social Affairs Bureau, Peng Hui-Zhan, pointed out that this Forum focused on interdisciplinary discussions on three major human right conventions and gender equality including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Meanwhile, Madelaine Y. Alfelor-Gazman, the CFO of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and the Mayor of Iriga, the Philippines; Vivian Lim, the 2019 Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader and the Founder of Women in Asia and the representative from Chiayi City Social Affairs Department were invited to conduct trans-national, trans-boundary and trans-city discussions on the promotion of gender equality and the 3Cs practices.
The Bureau explained that due to the impact of the COVID-19, this international forum on gender equality was held online for the first time and online registration was now open until September 24th(https://www.surveycake.com/s/8bkYa. Live streaming was expected to be available from 13:30 on September 29th on the Facebook page of "Love in the Society and Warm Taichung"( https://www.facebook.com/tccgsoc/ ). Gifts will be given to participants who registered first. Everyone is welcome to join us and to understand more trends of international gender equality for realizing gender equality in Taichung to build "A New Better Life in the Rich City, Taichung."
