Mid-Autumn Festival accompanied with love and hope: Companies gave benevolent donations of moon festival cakes

With Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, a number of companies in Taichung have shown their attentive care to disadvantaged minority families. Morn Sun Feed Ltd. and Chen Yun Pao Chuan Food Industry Co., Ltd. donated 324 and 600 boxes of moon cakes, respectively; and Howard Hotels donated NT$60,000. The donation ceremonies took place yesterday and today (the 8th). Director of Social Affairs Bureau Peng Huai-chen expressed his gratitude to these kind-hearted companies for delivering love and warmth through moon cakes, and letting disadvantaged minority families feel the support and care of the society during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Director Peng expressed that, under the impact of the pandemic, many families in financial straits suffered from more difficulties. For most people, eating moon cakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival is something normal. Nevertheless, for some families and children, it is an experience rarely available. Director Peng, therefore, thanked these companies for showing their generosity, sharing their love, and caring for local disadvantaged minority groups as they have created warmth for society.
Social Affairs Bureau pointed out that Morn Sun Feed Ltd. had donated 324 boxes of moon cakes through Councilor Lee Chung to benefit disadvantaged minority families, and these moon cakes were given out by social workers during the visits. Morn Sun Feed Ltd. expressed that, from a feed producer in its early days to an upstream company of the egg, poultry and livestock supply chains now, it had been continuously supporting people living in Chiayi, Nantou and remote aeras with eggs or related products. It is the Morn Sun Feed Ltd.’s aspiration to share the joy of the festival with mid-and-low-income households in Taichung City this year.
Howard Hotels, in addition, is also enthusiastic about public welfare. Through Councilor Chen Cheng-hsien, Howard Hotels has donated NT$60,000 to the Northern District Distribution Station and franchise of Taichung City Goodwill Food Bank. This amount of money will be used to purchase items required by disadvantaged minority families as additional gifts. Howard Hotels expressed that, upholding the spirit of “taking from the society and giving back to the society” and with the aspiration of working with the world for the better, it aimed to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities and give back to the society by assisting disadvantaged minority groups. Through this charity donation, Howard Hotels has delivered its care to society and wished the recipients a family reunion, good health, and peace.
Social Affairs Bureau pointed out that Chen Yun Pao Chuan Food Industry Co., Ltd. had, through Council Chang Liao Wan-chien, donated 600 boxes of moon cakes to disadvantaged minority families in East District, South District and Xitun District. Chen Yun Pao Chuan Food expressed its wish to share the happy and wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere with parents and children of these families by doing their best. A number of guests attended this event, including Councilor Lee Chung, Chen Cheng-hsien, Chang Liao Wan-chien, Director of Social Affairs Bureau Peng Huai-chen, Senior Executive Officer of Economic Development Bureau Lin Ming-Chi, Executive Assistant of Morn Sun Feed Ltd. Pien Chien-yuan, Deputy General Manager of Operations of Howard Hotels Cheng Hung-ju, CEO of Chen Yun Pao Chuan Food Industry Co., Ltd. Wong I-chi, and Vice President of Educator Media Ku Chun-chuan. Chief administrators of Xitun District, South District and East District Chen Pao-yun, Chen Pei-yu and Ho I-chen; Chairman of South District Fushun Community Development Association Hsieh Chien-yao; and chief of East District Dongxin Village Hung Jung-chi also witnessed this event.
