American NGO Future Leader Group visited Taichung to learn the city administration development, including how the youths involving in the political activities, woman’s empowerment, humanitarian aids, environmental and health initiatives etc. The group visited the City Government to understand updated development of NGOs in Taichung and the related interactions with the international NGOs in the afternoon yesterday.
Deputy Mayor Lin said, Taichung has become the second largest city in Taiwan with increasing international exposures. Recently, Taichung has close interactions and various cultural or economical communications with the cities in the United States. Mayor Chia-lung Lin has dedicated to the promotion of the international NGO center and hoped to introduce more energy of the international citizens and societies. He tried to leverage the power of sharing by the international friends to attract more international NGOs to settle down in Taichung and become one of the members in the international NGO center.
The visiting group participated in the seminar presented by the staffs from the international NGO center and understood how to apply for the settlement in the international NGO center in addition to the operations of the international NGO center in the future. They showed high interests in all these topics. Furthermore, the visiting group will visit the international NGO center in GuangFu Village and learn the related plans of the park.
Deputy Mayor Lin has sent the group the souvenirs of Taichung Flora Expo and the famous desert of Taichung, Sun cake. She expects these international friends would be the testimonials of Taichung and help to promote Taichung and Flora Expo together with us.
