In order to greet the upcoming Taichung Flora Expo, the City Government has recruited health volunteers, transportation volunteers and safety volunteers etc. 9 different roles to support the related tasks during the Flora Expo period. The service scope of health volunteers covers the emergency medical assistance in the exhibition area, duty shift sharing with the poly clinic staffs, onsite support in the exhibition area, monitoring the staffs in and out of the medical service center and emergency aid station in addition to the maintenance of AED setting in the exhibition area. Also, they will support the maintenance of breastfeeding and breast milk collecting rooms in the garden and education to the people for no smoking and the non-smoking area in the exhibition area..
The former chief of medical administration, Cheng-ching hospital- Pin Tien division, Huei-yin Lin was in charge of the coordination of the hospital volunteer, social workers and patient transferring. She took the responsibility of being the speaker of Flora Expo health volunteers and encouraged the hospital volunteers to become the Flora Expo volunteer to learn from different angles through the different service type.
Huei-yin Lin said, the positive and happy attitude of the hospital volunteer sisters and mothers is always the power to drive her to move forward under such a heavy stress. The volunteer demands for Flora Expo are huge and Cheng-ching hospital has started to spread this message internally one year ago. All the hospital volunteers were encouraged to join in the team of Flora Expo volunteers in addition to their daily services in the hospital.
Huei-yin Lin laughed and said, the hospital volunteer sisters and mothers are all responsible and worried if it would influence their services in the hospital when they join in the works of Flora Expo. However, she’d fully support the volunteers to devote into the team of Flora Expo services. As it’s a precious opportunity to observe and learn 9 facets of volunteering services in one time so the volunteers will be able to achieve self accomplishments by leverage of the very special opportunity.
