The Social Affairs Bureau pointed out that 3 workshops were conducted during the first half of the year at Garden of Girls in Taichung, drawing a large number of female participants. At first, the girls did not know where to begin and the progress was slow and prolonged. However, the young girls were fascinated by the handmade cloth menstrual pads. Today (18th), 20 spots were made available at the Dajia Women Welfare Service Center, which saw enthusiastic participation from over 20 women. The participants expressed that making cloth menstrual pads by hand is a unique experience.
According to the Social Affairs Bureau, Garden of Girls in Taichung has developed a wide array of activities, providing young girls with an opportunity to learn and mature. The program has empowered numerous young women; in particular, Ms. Shi, who participated in the Dream Realization Project last year, proposed the Women Entrepreneur program, where she visited women entrepreneurs from 6 major industries to explore their entrepreneurial process and original intent. She aims to understand how women can shatter stereotypes, think outside the box and stay true to themselves. Currently, Ms. Shi has opened a fashion design studio and became a founder, therefore she was invited to come back to the Garden of Girls in Taichung as a lecturer to conduct the Handmade Cloth Menstrual Pad workshop.
