Taichung City SAB Director-General Inspects Outbreak Prevention Measures in Senior Citizens' Institutions to Care About Senior Citizens

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, Taichung City Social Affairs Bureau (SAB) has implemented outbreak prevention measures in senior citizens' institutions, delivering masks to them in supporting the central government's policy, so that the staff will be able to take care of senior citizens with peace of mind. SAB Director-General Peng Huai-Chen personally visited Trunson Senior Citizens' Center in Beitun District today (2/21) to examine potential problems encountered by the institution during outbreak prevention. He commended various institutions for cooperating with outbreak prevention policies in order to protect the safety of senior citizens.
According to Peng, the city government launched the outbreak prevention measures during the Chinese New Year and conducted a survey to determine the resources needed by various institutions in carrying out outbreak prevention measures. Furthermore, the latest outbreak prevention-related information from the Central Epidemic Command Center is communicated to the institutions via Line. So far, everything is done in accordance with regulations, thus he extended his gratitude to the institutions for their full cooperation.
SAB pointed out that it will reinforce staff and senior citizen health management at senior citizens' institutions by complying with the central government's regulations. These measures include measuring body temperature every day, monitoring health, washing hands frequently, as well as implementing visitor management and outbreak prevention procedures. In addition, concerned visitors are advised to temporarily suspend visitations to ensure there are no blind spots in outbreak prevention.
