How to Spend Your Triple Stimulus Vouchers? Mayor Lu Stimulates Economy and Supports Charities from a Wheelchair

Due to a hip joint surgery, Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen of Taichung City was on a leave and yesterday, she terminated her leave earlier. Today (the 30th), in order to support the disadvantaged, she spent her triple stimulus vouchers on wooden pinball sets made by trainees at Xin Wuo Studio and gave them as gifts to nine parent-child centers in Taichung to be used for games to spread love and virtue continuously. Mayor Lu hoped that with this act, she was able to contribute to the society, stimulate Taichung's economy and promote the Taichung Shopping Festival incorporating lucky draws via invoice registration and became a smartest user of the triple stimulus vouchers!
After the surgery, for a short period of time, Mayor Lu cannot walk or stand for long. Temporarily, she needs a wheelchair and thus, she knows very well about the inconvenience of the disadvantaged. She would like to do more for the disadvantaged. The "Xin Wuo Studio" is an environmental friendly wood studio established by parents of mentally disadvantaged children. The Studio recycles waste hard wood pallets discarded by big high-tech companies and re-make them into furniture. The Studio also offers parent-child DIY courses.
After visiting the shop and studio, Mayor Lu played with a wooden pinball set and spent her stimulus vouchers on nine of them as gifts to nine parent-child centers in Taichung City. Meanwhile, the "Xin Wuo Studio" also joins the Taichung Shopping Festival as an incentive store on the designated "Good Area" and the consumption amount at the Studio can be calculated by three times. Mayor Lu was also given number sets for her triple consumption amount. This means that she will have triple chances to win in the lucky draws. She also registered on site her consumption amount on the app of the Taichung Shopping Festival to stimulate Taichung's economy with a practical act.
Mayor Lu said that when she was hospitalized, she was thinking of how to become a smartest user of the triple stimulus vouchers. It occurred to her that she will use her triple stimulus vouchers to purchase commodities sold by the disadvantaged and then give them away as gifts to nine parent-child center in Taichung to add game equipment for them. "An act with triple benefits is the most meaningful way of spending," said Mayor Lu. She pointed out that first, she can do something to help the disadvantaged; second, these products are made in Taichung and she can help to stimulate Taichung's economy. Third, by registering the consumption amount, she will have the chance to win grand prizes at the Taichung Shopping Festival.
Additionally, Mayor Lu announced that if she wins any lucky draw prizes that include e-scooters, cars, cash prizes of NT$1 million or a luxury house worth of dozens of million dollars, she will donate them all!

Director General of the Social Affairs Bureau, Peng Hui-chen, pointed out that the "Xin Wuo Studio," is included to the total of 26 disadvantaged organizations in Taichung City joining the priority procurement. The Bureau started from June introducing their organizations and products such as mooncakes and hand-made soaps via streaming on the Facebook of "Love in the Society and Warmth in Taichung" to encourage the public to support the disadvantaged with practical acts. For more information of contact methods and product catalogues of priority procurement organizations, please visit the website of the Social Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government (https://www.society.taichung.gov.tw/1571852/post).
Accompanied by Director General Peng, Mayor Lu today visited the "Xin Wuo Studio" and made a wooden pen holder with children from the organization in a DIY activity. Other visitors to the site included Councilman Huang Hsin-Hui and President and Secretary General of the Parents' Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, Taichung, Li Hsiao-Mei and Tsai Teng-Chie.
