The Social Affairs Bureau has held a promotional activity for Mid-Autumn Festival products and a charity fair in the square of KS SOGO earlier today. It has invited 16 disabled people groups and sheltered workshops to set up stalls in order to sell moon cake gift boxes, cloth sacks, soaps, keychain, and various handmade crafts. Mayor Lin, Director-General Lu Jian-de of Social Affairs Bureau, Director-General Huang Ho-ting of Labor Affairs Bureau, and more attended the fair to show their supports.
“There is love in Taichung so that people feel warm!” Mayor Lin expressed. Every year, he helps the disabled people to promote their moon cakes. Last year, with the support from different sectors, the moon cakes made by disabled people groups and sheltered workshops sold very well at about 60 thousand boxes. He expects the sales will be even better this year, exceeding the sales of 65 thousand boxes. He also advocates businesses to buy from the disable groups with top priority when presenting seasonal gifts to inject more warmth to society.
