“Friendly Community – Resource Sharing” seminar explores the issue of disability from many levels, inviting Taiwan Social Welfare League Deputy Secretary Je-lin Pan to present a speech on the topic of “Enhancing Self-advocacy of Disabled Persons from the Perspective of Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)” in response to the question of striking a balance between advocating disability rights and protecting social welfare in social work.
According to Social Affairs Bureau, the Taichung City Disability Community Resource Center has been in service for 7 years, currently integrating disability community resource centers in 6 districts (Beitun, Datun, Zonhe, Xitun, Haixian and Shanxian) with the assistance of 5 organizations, providing single-window contact that consolidates health, education and social welfare consultation services. By integrating various community social resources and forging interdisciplinary collaborations, 38,703 disabled persons and their families have received assistance. The aim is to maximize the service momentum within limited manpower and resources through network collaborations.
