Taichung has subsided the vulnerable teenage girls to participate in the overseas charitable events to encourage them to broaden their international vision and pursue their dreams

Taichung City Government has continuously assisted the young people to pursue their dreams and make dreams come true. Social Affairs Bureau has conducted the 「Taichung subsides vulnerable teenage girls for overseas charitable event experiences project」to allow the economically vulnerable teenage girl residents registered in Taichung who are aged from 15 to 22 years old to apply for the subsidies of flight tickets, insurance and allowances from 2 months before the trips and they will be subsided if they’re approved to be qualified after the review. It’s expected to allow the girls to broaden their visions and pursue their dreams of life.

The project of encouraging the vulnerable teenage girls to experience the overseas charitable events will provide the opportunities to the girls for involving in the overseas charitable events by watching and learning, competing and volunteer services so that will help the teenage girls to accomplish themselves. The officer of Social Affairs Bureau indicated, the City Government has formed the「Taichung garden of girls」 in 2015 to provide the teenage girls the gender empowerment project and speak up platform. Especially, the 「Dreams come true project」has leveraged the gender equity game APP, rural village services and animal protection etc. to allow the teenage girls to show their characteristics, including energy, confidence and courage; furthermore, the girls are encouraged to try hard to pursue their dreams. In the future, the project will continue to facilitate Taichung to become a friendly city for the young people to pursue and make their dreams come true in the city.
